Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups strong brewed coffee cooled
  • 24 ladyfinger biscuits
  • 1 1/2 cups mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp dark chocolate shavings optional

Equipment

  • 1 Mixing bowl For preparing the mascarpone cream
  • 1 Electric mixer For whipping the cream mixture
  • 1 Spatula For folding and layering
  • 1 Shallow bowl For the cooled coffee
  • 6 Dessert glasses For assembling individual tiramisu
  • 1 Fine sieve For dusting cocoa powder

Method

  1. Brew the coffee and let it cool completely.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the mascarpone, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  4. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until light and creamy.
  5. Dip each ladyfinger briefly into the cooled coffee. Do not soak them for too long.
  6. Arrange a layer of coffee-dipped ladyfingers in the bottom of each dessert glass.
  7. Add a layer of mascarpone cream over the ladyfingers.
  8. Repeat the layers until the glasses are filled, finishing with a layer of mascarpone cream.
  9. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours so the flavors can develop and the dessert can set.
  10. Before serving, dust the tops with unsweetened cocoa powder and add dark chocolate shavings if desired.

Notes

For the best texture and flavor, chill the tiramisu for at least 4 hours before serving. Dip the ladyfingers briefly in the coffee so they stay soft without becoming soggy.
