Ingredients

  • Shrimp
  • - 1 1/2 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • - 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • - 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Spicy Garlic Sauce
  • - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • - 5 garlic cloves minced
  • - 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • - 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • - 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • - 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • - 1 teaspoon honey
  • - 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • Optional Garnish
  • - Lemon wedges
  • - Extra parsley

Equipment

  • 1 large skillet
  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 wooden spoon or spatula
  • 1 Chef’s knife
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 set of measuring spoons
  • 1 serving dish

Method

  1. Season the Shrimp
  2. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels, then season with salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika.
  3. Heat the Skillet
  4. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Cook the Shrimp
  6. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for about 1 to 2 minutes per side, just until pink and opaque. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
  7. Make the Garlic Sauce
  8. Lower the heat to medium. Add the butter and minced garlic to the same skillet and cook briefly until fragrant.
  9. Add the Flavor
  10. Stir in the red pepper flakes, soy sauce, honey, and lemon juice. Let the sauce simmer for about 1 minute.
  11. Return the Shrimp
  12. Add the cooked shrimp back to the skillet and toss gently until fully coated in the sauce.
  13. Finish
  14. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and cook for another 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  15. Serve
  16. Serve immediately with lemon wedges if desired.

Notes

For the best texture, avoid overcooking the shrimp, since they can become rubbery quickly. Adjust the red pepper flakes to control the heat level, and add the lemon juice at the end for a fresher flavor. Store leftovers promptly in the refrigerator and reheat gently.
